Natural England is committed to enabling Green Exercise and is funding a three-Family playing ball in outdoor settingyear programme comprising one demonstration project in each of the government regions. This programme runs from 2007 to 2010.

The eight demonstration projects show:

  • the many different ways in which our physical health and mental wellbeing can be maintained and improved in the natural environment;
  • the range of possible activities;
  • the different sections of the population that Green Exercise can appeal to and benefit;
  • the different settings in which Green Exercise can take place.
